Synthesis and Assessment

    Now it's your turn!

For the final application of this theme, you will choose between the following three assignments to complete. Please read all of the descriptions below and complete the assignments before next class, as we will be presenting them.

“Something Old, Something New”

Based on everything you have just learned, pick an invention you would like to research and answer the following questions:

1.     Who invented it and when?
2.     What was its purpose?
3.     How has it evolved and what is it’s use today?
4.     A current event involving this invention.

"A Brilliant Mind"

Create your own invention and explain it in detail. Be sure to name your invention! Answer the following questions:

1.    What is it?
2.     What is it’s use?
3.     How do you think it will succeed?
4.     Where do you see this invention in 50 years?

"A Day in the Life Without"

Based on everything we have covered, write a story about what your day would be like without the wheel, telephone, light bulb, and penicillin. Be sure your day begins when you wake up, ends when you go to bed, and includes a scenario without each invention.
